Safety Topics and
Maximum Availability

June+2026

You must read, and certify that you have read, the following safety topics in order to obtain shifts.

  1. Remember, if you are sick, STAY HOME. Contact us through When I Work to cancel a shift.

  2. The spring brings many opportunities for additional activities. If being out on a bicycle or a motorcycle is one of your activities, ride defensively, expecting drivers to be unaware of your presence and to look out for wildlife on the roads.

  3. Slips and falls make up many of the injuries seen in the ER. Keep your eyes open for uneven surfaces and obstacles, as well as the wet spots that might be icy and slick.

  4. Bears and other wildlife are now active. Be cautious of migrating deer all over our area while you drive. Keep your cars clean of food litter and locked. Lock all trash dumpsters after using them. Help keep wildlife wild!

  5. Drink plenty of water to counteract high altitude dehydration and slather on the sunscreen multiple times a day to avoid sun damage.

  6. Keep your sunglasses or goggles on whenever you venture outside. Burns on your eyes are truly horrible!

  7. As you prepare for summer activities, be sure to eat properly! Good nutrients will help you stay strong physically and mentally.

  8. Are you “spring” cleaning? Be aware of all of the chemicals in the products you use. Know if you need to ventilate an area or if you need to protect your skin with gloves. Remember to spray areas with 1 part bleach to 10 parts water and soak the area for 15 minutes before wiping clean with paper towels, if you are cleaning an area with mouse dropping. Use an N95 or better face mask while disturbing any droppings. Avoid Hantavirus problems!

  9. If you see something that seems out of place or odd, bring it up with others – “See Something, Say Something!”
