Are you “spring” cleaning? As many know, Hantavirus is more prevalent at this time of year. Be prepared by keeping your home clutter free. If you do find mice feces, always air out the space, use N95 masks (or better), gloves and spray the area with water mixed with bleach, creating a 10% bleach solution. After spraying, let the area soak for 5 minutes, use disposable towels to wipe clean, and throw towels in a plastic bag. Be sure to wash your hands with the gloves on first, then again after removing the gloves. Never use a vacuum or broom and dustpan to clean the area.
-
Be Aware of all of the chemicals in the products you use for cleaning. Know if you need to ventilate an area or if you need to protect your skin with gloves.
